What to do with all that sourdough discard?
My refrigerator was overflowing with sourdough discard. If you have never attempted to create homemade sourdough bread - discard is what is left over each day after you feed your sourdough starter. To keep it simple, when you feed your sourdough each day, it grows about double its size (bubbly and healthy) it’s your yeast. If you did not discard some of your sourdough starter each day, you would end up with a very large amount of sourdough starter (yeast). Which is okay if you bake loafs of bread a day.
Welcome to our new subscribers, we are thrilled you are here. Our Wendy’s Kitchen is growing, thanks to all of you, you warm my heart. For those of you who are new, I have been playing with sourdough recipes, because a friend’s daughter gifted me a portion of her starter. If there is anyone in town that would love some starter, I will create some for you. Just link me or message me.
