Moments on Leland Pond (take 11)-Evening Calm #2
Do you ever feel like God is with you?
Hi I am Wendy—author of Wendy’s Kitchen & more—this is the “more”, where I share my little piece of Heaven on Earth with you. Come join me if you can.
Do you ever feel like God is with you? Like present in your life, not just knowing he exists or told to believe, but really with you?
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God”
Psalms 46:10 KJV
The below photo is how I felt in that moment, peace and tranquillity, is God with me?
I believe so, especially in moments when you, yourself are present—aware of the evening calm, aware of your surroundings like these young adults who are floating quietly—enjoying what I can only imagine are wonderful stories shared amongst friends.
Me—drinking an IPA, watching the birds grab a snack before dark. Cooking dinner on the weber, and reminiscing about the past few days.
It carried through until the morning hours, where I have a routine to read the Bible, browse substack, and catch-up on world news. Today was a little different—I was inspired to create a new recipe, clean out the refrigerator and write a story. Is God with me—I feel fulfilled, calm and happy—I believe He is.
We enjoyed the celebration of our wonderful country’s birthday on the 4th of July. No better way to celebrate with friends and family. It was a joyous occasion. Boating, card playing—possibly too loud of music (sorry neighbors) and campfires.
The weather was picture perfect all weekend long. Something to be thankful for, as we have experienced storms and flooding this past few weeks. The picture below showcases how my husband chose to turn lemons into well soaking in the pond (on the lawn)….
As I close out, I feel blessed to have special friends in my life, who love us, and we love them. I believe Clarence once said from “It’s a Wonderful Life”—“A man who has friends is not a failure”.
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Psalms 100:1-3 NIV
God bless everyone—may you enjoy some lovingkindness in your day today.
