What do you do when Stormy Weather soaks your Memorial Day Cookout?

You make a Meat Sauce of course, grin.

It’s Monday, May 27th in the US, which is our Memorial Day where we remember all those brave solders who enabled us to live free! It’s a day to remember, reflect and truly understand what it means to be free. As I reflect, I think are we truly ever free? But that is a topic beyond my little food, flower and lovingkindness stories.

It is literally pouring outside, I am still dripping after I did a check on my hubby who has been mowing the lawn, and trimming our overgrown bushes for way too long, grin. He’s comfortably resting in the garage. Thank goodness!

After I was secure that he was not lying under the mower, smile, safe and well. I ran back into the house. As I entered the house the smell immediately took me back 20-years to my grandmother’s home, where she would have had something similar simmering in a crockpot, to what I am cooking for dinner. What a wonderful feeling. I think to myself she would have loved what I have cooked up today.
