My 2024 Garden Season (wk. 3)
A seed's journey—week 3 update, Friday, June 7th. Peter Cotton-Tail Jr. caught in the act. Maybe I should name it the "Bunny Patch Party".
Our garden to table creations begins with a seed.
Hi, welcome back, can you believe we are at week 3-Friday, June 7th already. Where does the time go? Last week we had garlic scapes, this week we have critters running havoc, grin. Peter Cotton-Tail Jr. scoping out the free salad bar at Wendy’s Kitchen.

Welcome to our new subscribers and followers we are thrilled you are curious and have selected our growing community. My passion for garden to table creations, comes from my passion to grow and nurture plants. I believe it’s an incredible experience to watch a seed grow into something delicious to eat! God’s gift.
June 3: Every time I leave for camp on Thursday or Friday, I leave my garden in the hands of Mother Nature, hoping that she waters her and protects her. It’s very exciting to come home on a Monday and see new growth, flowers that will eventually be a baby tomato, or a pepper, etc.
This Monday, I came home to weeds, no squash, no cantaloupe plants, a missing tomato, and several peppers gone. My husband shouts over—why don’t you just go to the Farmers’ Market instead, smile.
I think, I could, but what fun would that be, grin. So, I know it’s my own fault, I should have put the fence up, I should have sprinkled that bunny away stuff, etc. I just shrug it off, it’s life. And—I get to work and rebuild, again. You know, if you are like me, there is an inherit satisfaction in making it through—a win, a feel good.
June 4: Planted the basil plants that I rooted indoors. Check out my video on DIY basil.
Basil made it through the week, yeah! They had a few bites from birds and too much sun, where’s their sunscreen? All in all, they will be fine.
June 7: Baby squash 2nd time around are growing, radishes are thriving, and tomatoes plants have early signs a future baby tomatoes, it all begins with a flower. We also have cayenne peppers about to ripen. Our peppers we grew from seed are reaching for the stars, the onions and potatoes are growing strong. It’s a feel-good moment. I turn to my husband, look, we have progress, we have growth, and we are on to better days. This is my Why! I am a Warrior Garden Angel! Well in my head I am, grin.
That’s it for this week in our seeds journey. Tune in next week for another garden adventure.

I’m enjoying your gardening successes vicariously, Wendy! I just don’t have a green thumb—or patience. Perhaps I’ll work on rooting some basil cuttings in my kitchen. That’s about my limit. Your photography is great, especially the glimpse of Peter Cottontail Jr. in quest of his next meal!🐇
Oh my. Just go to the farmers market! What?! We would miss all that joy of working in the garden and having an excuse to be outside and watching things change daily and the wonder of it all.
